Cremation Caskets

When a family chooses cremation, a casket (sometimes called a cremation container) is still required by law – a safe and appropriate container must meet the safety requirements of the crematorium.   There are two reasons for this; firstly, a casket or container shelters and protects the deceased during the transfer process from our facilities to the crematorium.  Secondly, it also ensures that our colleagues work in a safe and dignified manner when handling human remains.  Crematorium operators are not licensed to handle human remains directly, hence the need for a container.
